Ever since we were told that there is going to be a sequel to the 1991-film Sadak, fans have been rejoicing. Sadak was directed by Mahesh Bhatt, and after a hiatus of 27 years, the filmmaker is all set to return to direction. On the 70th birthday of Mahesh Bhatt, daughter Alia Bhatt took to social media and posted a video announcing the sequel to Sadak and wrote, “SADAK 2 @MaheshNBhatt @PoojaB1972 @duttsanjay #AdityaRoyKapur #MukeshBhatt @VisheshFilms #Sadak2….”

Besides the announcement, what caught our attention was the cast of the film and let’s admit, it is a dream cast to work with. Sadak 2 will star Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles. Besides, of course, Alia Bhatt working with daddy for the first time, we are excited to see Sanjay Dutt on screen. While Mahesh Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt have collaborated on five projects till date namely Naam, Kabzaa, Sadak, Gumrah and Kartoos, Sadak 2 will be their sixth project. Sadak, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles; the film was the second highest grossing film of the year 1991.

As we all know, Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Bhatt share a great professional and personal rapport, and while signing the film, Sanjay Dutt shared that money was never his concern when he signed the film. Yes, Pooja Bhatt, who will be returning to acting after a long gap, decided to discuss remuneration with Dutt. Recalling the moment, Pooja said that Mukesh Bhatt literally jumped from his chair after looking at Sanjay Dutt’s reaction over money. Pooja revealed, “He was like, ‘What remuneration?’ Mukesh Bhatt (the film’s producer) actually jumped from his chair.”

Sanjay Dutt, who is super excited to work with Mahesh Bhatt said, “When Bhatt saab is directing, I don’t want a make-up guy or a hair artiste. I don’t even need to look into a mirror or need a van to sit in.” Sadak 2 will hit the theatres on March 25, 2020.
